PIXELFORGE WEB DESIGN

~ Dave builds websites! ~

Your friendly neighborhood webmaster · hand-coded in a plain text editor since 1997

★ NEED A WEBSITE? ★ I do frames, JavaScript, tables, animated GIFs and forms ★ homepages from $75 ★ most sites live in two weeks ★ scroll down for prices and my past work ★ sign the guestbook on your way out ★

Heads up: PixelForge, “Dave”, and every client, review and price below are made up for this demo. Nobody here is real, but the web shop is exactly the kind that built half the web in 1999.

Need a website?

Hi, I'm Dave. I build websites for people who don't want to, small shops, local teams, bands, your aunt's craft business. You bring the idea; I bring the HTML, the late nights, and a folder of animated GIFs bigger than it has any right to be.

No agency, no account managers, no meetings about meetings. Just me, one very warm computer, and a modem that finally stopped screaming. If it belongs on the World Wide Web, I can put it there.

What I do

  • Frames: menu on the side, content in the middle, the works
  • JavaScript: rollover buttons, pop-up messages, drop-down menus
  • Tables: laid out to the pixel, the way the pros do it
  • Animated GIFs: spinning logos, flaming text, a dancing whatever-you-like
  • Forms: contact forms and guestbooks that land in your inbox
  • Counters & guestbooks: proof that people came, and a place to say hi

NOW BOOKING two build slots open this month, grab one below.

Packages and prices

Plain prices, no surprises. Each package is a one-time build cost, you own the files when it's done. Hosting and the domain name are separate; I'll help you get both sorted (see the note under the table).

PixelForge build packages: what's included and the one-time price, in dollars.
Package What you get Price
Starter page One page. Your words, your pictures, a hit counter and a mail-to-me link. Live by the weekend. $75
The homepage Up to five pages, a guestbook, a hit counter, and one animated title just for you. $200
Business package Up to ten pages, a contact form, a photo gallery, and frames if you want them. $450
The whole works As many pages as it takes, forms, frames, JavaScript menus, and a members-only corner. $800
Just fix mine You've already got a site and it needs a hand. I patch, tidy and modernise, by the hour. $30/hr

About hosting: a website needs somewhere to live. Most folks pay a host around $10 a month for space and a name like yourshop.example. I don't resell it, I just point you at a good one and upload your site for free.

Extras you can bolt on

Any of these drop onto any package. Mix and match.

Optional add-ons and what each one does, with its one-time price in dollars.
Add-on What it does Price
Animated logo Your name, glowing and spinning, in a GIF small enough to load before lunch. $40
Guestbook Visitors sign, you read and moderate. The internet's front-door mat. $25
Hit counter The little odometer that proves the whole world stopped by. $10
Contact form Name, message, send, it lands straight in your e-mail. $30
Background music One MIDI tune with a real play button. It never starts on its own, I insist. $15
Webring setup I get you into a ring of sites like yours, so surfers find you. $20

My past work

A few sites I've put on the web lately. Every business here is invented for the demo, but the builds are the real menu, this is the sort of thing I make. (The little windows are drawn in the browser, not photographs.)

Sunrise Bakery

Home · Menu · Find us · Order ahead

LEDGER & LOOMIS

Services · About · Contact

Bookkeeping & tax, done right.

(They asked for no animated GIFs. I obliged. Once.)

Donetidy

Built: a calm, serious three-pager with a contact form, no blinking anything, on strict instructions. It hurt, but the site looks sharp.

Donecatalog

Built: a product list, a map to the dock, and a “fish of the month” page Al updates himself from the shop computer. He's very proud of it.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish. No jargon, no runaround.

From idea to online in three steps

  1. You tell me your idea. Fill in the quote form below, or just e-mail me. Tell me what your business is and what you'd like the site to do. There's no charge to ask, and I answer the same day.
  2. I build a mock-up. I sketch a home page and send it over for you to poke at. We go back and forth, colours, words, that animated logo, until it's right. Only then do I build out the rest.
  3. I put it on the web. When you're happy, I upload the whole thing, test every link and form, hand you the files, and show you how to make small edits yourself. You're live, and you can find your own site on the internet. Magic.
This page itself is always under construction, a webmaster's home is never quite finished.

What clients say

Every review below is fictional, written for this demo, from clients who don't exist. Flattering, aren't they? Real testimonials would name real, consenting people; these name nobody, on purpose.

“Marge”, Sunrise Bakery (invented)

Dave had our bakery on the web in a weekend. Now folks order their loaves before they leave the house. The little counter says three thousand visits, three thousand! For bread!

“Coach Ramirez”, Northside Little League (invented)

The parents stopped calling me about the schedule. It's all on the website now. Worth every dollar for that alone. Go Northside.

“The Sonic Toads”, local band (invented)

Our site has frames, a guestbook, AND flaming text. We are basically famous now. The label hasn't called, but it's only a matter of time.

Turnaround and guarantee

How fast?

  • A Starter page is usually live within a weekend.
  • Most full sites go up in about two weeks.
  • In a real hurry? 48-hour rush jobs cost a little extra, and I'll tell you up front if I can hit it.

The PixelForge promise

If you don't like it, I keep tweaking until you do. Small changes in the first month are on the house. I don't take the final payment until you've seen your site on the real web and smiled at it.

★★★★★

Fine print, honestly: prices assume you supply the words and pictures. I can write and draw too, but that's extra, and I'll quote it before I start, never after.

Get a quote

Tell me about your project and I'll send back a price, usually the same day. Asking costs nothing and doesn't sign you up for a thing.

This form opens your own e-mail program and works even with JavaScript switched off. No computer of mine is sitting on the other end listening, old-fashioned, on purpose.

Quote request

What do you need? (tick all that apply)

How soon do you need it?

Prefer to just write? E-mail me at dave@pixelforge.example and tell me what you're after. If the form does nothing when you press the button, your computer has no e-mail set up, so use that address instead.
